I'm so confused, why did they change character's names? Like I could understand (but not agree with) changing a name to make it easier to read, but what could've been the point of changing Sherry to Sophie?

I don’t know for that one, which is why I’m really hoping they do a localization blog post for that specifically.

I remember they wanted to, back during Trio of Town’s loc, rename Lisette to Carolina. Lisette is still a real name! They decided against Carolina, but I have no idea how they even came to the notion of wanting to change it in the first place.

Very much decisions that make me go “hrrmmmm.”

Are there any physical bonuses for ordering SoS: Grand Bazaar in Japanese or just digital bonuses? If so, do you have a reference of where?

Also - I'm enjoying your comments on the game!

    There are!

Ebten usually has the best, but most limited, pre-order items. This time it’s a set of 4 acrylic cards, a tumbler cup, and mini tote bag!

There are other physical items like acrylic standees and badge pins!

Damn, I'm really gonna need a dev log on why some decisions were made

I also need to say it right now, you can't have things both ways.

This game is German, Austrian, Danish, and Polish cultures altogether.

If you argue for Japanese students keeping their names instead of naming Natsuko to Natalie, then you also advocate for contextually appropriate names to be applied to their localization.

As an Example, Erich to Erik and Enge to June takes away their Austrian background.

I'm a bit disappointed to see that taken away again.
