On a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being WWIC, how much hurt/pain shall we expect from Paperclips? I'm only asking because I am very sensible and need to get prepared (especially after WWIC.......)

If you need other people to nag you to post the AUs and cut scenes I will happily oblige! I love this verse and your writing and will always love to read more of it!
View AnswerHow come you ended up writing an AU of your own fic? Was it because it's been such a long process for you? As in, do you ever wish things had gone differently in TMOTB so that things would have been different also in WWNC? Or maybe you had more to say about these characters?
(Either way I'm so happy it happened!!! I'm loving Paperclips already!)

Just how fucking awkward is it in Five Eyes intelligence briefings when one of the five threaten to annex another and the remaining three have to point out that they’re all part of the commonwealth headed by the royal family their new boss loves to emulate.
do you have a face for karpov? I know supposedly he's meant to look a bit like steve, just wandering if you had anyone particular in mind!
View AnswerUnpopular opinion but if you don't enjoy the process you should find a different thing to do.
And I think this is true in general but now I'm talking about it in the context of AI.
If you don't enjoy making art and only care about the end piece and how it'll look and how much traction it"lol get online then making art is not something for you, find something you enjoy from start to finish.
Same goes for writing: if you do not enjoy writing and rewriting and then some more and instead want AI to write for you, being a writer is not something you should pursue.
Sure, not every part of creative process is going to be equally enjoyable but you should get satisfaction from solving the problems along the way and you should get a sense of accomplishment on your way of "making the piece yours" and you should have a sense of ownership once you are done.
None of these things will come from typing in a prompt into chatGPT. And I am sad to see so many people are missing on the opportunity to experience the joy of making something with their own hands and brains.
If you hate writing, don't do it. If you're using generative AI for your work, you aren't a writer (or artist).
"Chose not to warn doesn't sufficiently prepare me for this story" then don't read it "but" don't read it "what if there are triggering topics" don't read it "I can't read a fic with X warning" then don't read this story "what if I really want" don't read it "but I" DO NOT READ IT "but why won't you cater to-" DO. NOT. READ. IT.
Hope that helps!
The worst thing a writer could do is cater to other people's tastes. If you are writing fan fiction or for a hobby this is for you, have fun with it.
If you plan on writing publicly adding trigger warnings is a good idea simply bc that's literally how you grow your audience. And don't half ass trigger warnings, treat it like any warning label for things like medicine.
Absolutely, but "chose not to warn" is a warning. It isn't a comprehensive warning; personally I don't like nasty surprises, so I usually filter it out of my search results. But the writer has done their part if they've used that warning. If a reader sees it and is unsure, the next step is either to 1) use other methods to find out if the story is for them or 2) not read it. Attacking the writer for using a legitimate warning is not okay.
(Addendum: re a previous poster's tags, please for the love of everything, don't use "no warnings apply" AND "chose not to warn" at the same time. Those are very different tags. Using them together risks losing readers and/or triggering people unintentionally because you're sending contradictory messages, neither of which is good for you or the reader.)
If someone has never read anything from the Man on the bridge series, where would you suggest starting?
What would the pros and cons be of reading the 2014 part first?
I don't think I've ever read this series, but it's possible I did back in 2014. Won't know if I recognize it until I start it, and I don't want to start it just on case it's a big spoiler for the part you recently finished.

you're my favourite author! after years of looking forward to this moment, we finally have almost daily updates on your incredibly stories!! thank you so much, you don't understand how beautiful it is not to have to wait 4 months for 1 update lol anyway! I have a little question regarding Paperclips (more or less), I guess we will have Steve back at some point, and Bucky too. My question is, what do you think would have happened to Steve if he had been found in the 40/50s but he didn't know that Bucky was alive? How would have his life been without Bucky? Tragic, I know, but you're the queen of angst!
