Mini Collab with maybe a hammer koopa Dan
I haven’t seen the other Shaw Brothers/Hammer outing but if it is able to tap into why that combo is so appealing I’ll most likely enjoy it more. Shatter has a typical detective secret agent storyline which is something I’m a fan of especially when it comes to b movie budgets but Shatter refuses to take any of the key elements from either production company to the maximum. We’re limited in the sleaze factor which is weird because there’s a fair amount of nudie scenes and plenty of woman ? There is some great martial arts done by Ti Lung in a supporting role , who really should’ve been the star but it isn’t frequent so I was just waiting for him to show up most of the time. Cushing also excels at Cushing things in his guest role but again he isn’t present enough to make it worth the wait. But since I don’t do half stars and I think there is enough here to stay above the two star area I’ll be polite and slap a neat 3 on it.
