A theatre experience of a lifetime!!! β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯
I was out of station and got back to Trivandrum only yesterday night. Otherwise, wouldβve caught the very first show itself.
To get a chance to revisit Thalapathy Vijayβs most iconic blockbuster of all time on the big screen amidst a frenzied crowd of fans cheering, whistling, dancing left, right, and centre for all the peppy chartbuster numbers and crowd-pleasing moments, in a 100% entertainment package stacked with them. Now tell me, what more could a Thalapathy veriyan ask for??!!
The crowd response was massive!!! This was the best theatre experience I had for a Thalapathy film since ThuppakkiΒ in 2012. Never ever thought I would get a chance to revisit one of my favorite Vijay films of all time on the biggest screen in the city and in such an exciting ambience too! I will never forget this day in my life!
Ghilli came at the exact right time in Vijayβs career, right when he was switching from the boy-next-door in rom-coms to the action hero of the masses, kick-started inΒ ThirumalaiΒ the previous year. Being so, it strikes the perfect balance between both the worlds. Saravanavel is a typical fun-loving boy-next-door and also a mass action hero at the same time, a saviour for both his neighborhood gang of close friends-cum-kabaddi-team-buddies and Dhanalakshmi (Trisha), the damsel-in-distress of the story. I donβt think any other Vijay film, that which came before or after, is such a balanced, complete, family-friendly entertainment package. It has adrenaline-pumping action blocks. It has romance as the backbone of the story. It has terrific comic sequences. And, last but not the least, a terrific villain who steals the show almost as much as its leading man. Prakash Raj as MuthupandiΒ is not justΒ theΒ best villain in a Vijay film, but, arguably, the best villain in any Kollywood mass masala affair. And,Β Vidyasagarβs album is one of his best works.
I could write pages if I want to. I love this film that much! Itβs the complete deal indeed. The Thalapathy die-hard fanboy in me is elated right now. Thanks to each and every one who made this blockbuster re-release possible!!! πππ
Witnessed yet again today that THALAPATHY is not just a title, but an emotion!!! A true man of the masses!!! π€©π€©π€©β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯β€οΈβπ₯
