What makes a favorite?

Some of these I could watch any time, any day of the week.

Some, I may only bear to watch a handful of times (or once), but they have left me full of awe.

A handful of these are messes, but with enough of a singular vision shining through that I find myself returning to them time after time.

A few have personal significance to me.

This list is constantly in flux as I discover new films, and reappraise the old.
