David Johnson Ceramics on Instagram: "In this reel I’m making an extruded vase. This is a new design that I came up with late last year and was pleased with the outcome. I’m making them in two sizes, this one being the smaller of the two. I love how simple the initial creation of the form is. I’ve learned over the years that the less I touch the clay, the better it looks. I’m planning on loading up the bisque kiln soon and hope to have my first batch of glazed pots finished in a couple weeks. Stay tuned for a shop update in the coming weeks." Dault Pottery on Instagram: "We need your help answering a question although as I type this out…I’m pretty sure David’s opinion is going to win… Should there be a drinking spot carved into both sides of the travel mug making them work for both right and left handed people OR should we keep it to only one side but let people choose their preference? I personally don’t like the way the mug looks when I carve both sides out because visually it’s just too busy and it seems too open. David makes the argument that if we go ahead and make them ambidextrous, they would be way more practical and functional and it would eliminate any need to keep track of who needs a left handed mug. What do you think about it?"
