tweaked a pathfinder character of mines backstory to be such that the characters mother was a druid and. now my brain is feeding my gags related to the idea of a child growing up with a mother who spends a not-insignificant amount of time as a wolf and/or other animals. like. the inherent comedy of growing up expecting that, yeah, obviously everyones parents just go dog mode sometimes, thats normal

"ma why are you an animal sometimes"
the mother, being possessed briefly by the spirit of Calvin's dad from Calvin and Hobbes, "Oh that's something all adults do sometimes hon, sometimes you've just gotta slip into something more comfortable."
child, wandering away, internalizing this as a core fact in her world view immediately, "Yeah that makes sense"
the image in my mind of a young child being carried by the collar of her little shirt by a large wolf is incredibly cute to me. the inherent gags of having a parent that can shapeshift. the complete lack of surprise that this child eventually realizes shes trans. its perfect to me
