Together with FMO - Dutch entrepreneurial development bank and Proparco, we recently announced an investment to support GENNEIA, Argentina’s largest wind and solar power producer, with a US$ 100 million loan for two solar projects. On October 29th at #COP16 in Colombia, Stéphanie Emond from FinDev Canada had the pleasure of engaging in an inspiring discussion with leaders from IDB Invest, S&P Global, BNP Paribas, and Klabin. Together, they explored innovative financial mechanisms designed to support biodiversity conservation and restoration, focusing on the development of KPIs to unlock investment in this vital area. ** Le 29 octobre, lors de la #COP16 en Colombie, Stéphanie Emond de FinDev Canada a eu le plaisir de participer à une discussion inspirante avec des dirigeants de IDB Invest, S&P Global, BNP Paribas et Klabin. Ensemble, ils ont exploré des mécanismes financiers innovants conçus pour soutenir la conservation et la restauration de la biodiversité, en se concentrant sur le développement d'ICP pour stimuler l'investissement dans ce domaine vital.

🌱 #COP16: Last Friday, IFA convened a high-level strategic dialogue in downtown Cali, to discuss what it will take to implement the Global Biodiversity Framework, and how to avoid the pitfalls of the SDG Agenda. Our invited leaders from government, finance, international organizations, private sector and farming agreed on several critical points, such as: ▪ The need for a stronger presence of food and agriculture in the processes of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and the integration of soil health into National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs), ▪ For governments to provide an enabling environment and stability for long-term investments, through policy and regulation, ▪ The recognition of the private sector as a provider of data, science and food security, and the need to improve its inclusion into UN CBD processes, ▪ The urgency to improve the prospects and economic stability of young farmers. We thank our participants for a constructive dialogue.
