Hi everyone, this is my last personal project; the main concept is a mix of a big snake and a dragon. For the head i used as a reference Smaug. Modelling in Maya, Mudbox and Speedtree (for the vegetation). Texturing in Mudbox and Photoshop. Rendering in Arnold. Compositing in Nuke . I hope you enjoy.

The basilisk is a creature of the chimera genus, formed by a mixture of a rooster and a reptile, generally a snake. They have the body, face and wings of a rooster, and the tail of a reptile. Basilisks hatch from an egg rejected by a hen, which is not oval but round, and must be incubated by a reptile.
