Thank you for visiting me and for all comments on recent posts. It's lovely to hear from you and to see new followers I have a few things to share today ... Firstly, a couple of pages from my "sketchbook" which isn't really a sketchbook, but more like a sample book! I do draw and sketch a little, mainly still life. When I'm out and about I tend to use my camera for visual recording and a notebook for scribbling thoughts and ideas. Are you the same? There are so many ways of recording…

Life is a whirl at the moment ... so much going on I hope things settle down a bit soon ... Yesterday, I managed to finish off a few little things ... clearing the way a bit so I can concentrate on my art quilt for FOQ 2010 (which is looming!) This is a postcard I made for Emma's postcard swap. It's lightly quilted with layers of distressed sheer fabrics, a mussel shell and some beads. I used one of my recent watercolours for the back of the card. I only finished it yesterday and haven't…

I've been thinking a lot about recycling in textiles. I always try to do this where I can and I'm always looking for new ways to use up the bits. I'm a terrible hoarder and I save EVERYTHING! ... scrap paper, wrapping paper, envelopes, labels, tags, etc. all get used either in my sketchbooks, inchies, collages, made into mini journals (which I paint and stitch on) or recycled into paper pulp, handmade paper or papier mache. Recently, I used up some of it in the Erosion Bundle Project ... tin…

hello and thanks for visiting I hope your Saturday is going well! since I last posted I had a great meeting at St. Ives Textiles where I continued on with this textured and hand stitched piece ... I'm really enjoying working on several things at the same time I don't find it hard to work this way ... just rather frustrating that I don't have even more time to stitch and paint but I'm sure you feel the same way about that too! my little piece features seed heads and french knots for the theme…

We are almost done with February and I'm so glad to see the back of it. Apart from one or two days it's been nothing but rain, hailstones, storms and news of Coronavirus spreading quickly round our beautiful Earth home! And as I sit writing this now the rain is streaming down the window panes ... I'm cosy indoors by the window looking through raindrops and I've had a lovely time going through photos, coming across work I had forgotten about. At the moment, most of my art materials, fabrics…
