Artisanal Gourd Necklace - by Chuck Spencer This handcrafted necklace is a stunning piece of art made by artist Chuck Spencer of Charleston IL. Chuck specialized in "gourd art"-- jewelry and bowls and other household goods made from natural gourds. He also salvaged deer bones from a local taxidermist, as well as wood from the forest. Chuck's studio in IL was called "Goods from the Woods." Chuck used to have a tent at the "Feast of the Hunters' Moon" Rendezvous in Lafayette IN, where these items were purchased. You can find an article about him here: . Chuck often derived inspiration from Native American designs. Colors are: brown (natural gourd), with copper, turquoise, cream, brown and black. Design on verso is Chuck's insignia. Measurements: Gourd is 1-3/4" long by 1-1/4" diameter.
