Shanklin is a popular seaside resort and civil parish on the Isle of Wight, England, located on Sandown Bay. Shanklin is the southernmost of three settlements which occupy the bay, and is close to Lake and Sandown. Before the other tourists arrived. Had an excellent lunch (roast pork sandwich with sweet potato fries) at The Village Inn (on right) thanks to the recommendation of a clerk in the Spar store. We don't bother with websites like TripAdvisor anymore, we find that we get better results by asking the locals where they eat.
