Little Oak Spring circa 1955 main residence is a rambling collection of whitewashed stone cottages designed by New York architect H. Page Cross in collaboration with Bunny Mellon. The walled garden was designed by Mrs. Mellon and combines English and Continental garden aesthetics beautifully and simply, without pretension. So nice to see the iconic trope l'oeil murals in the greenhouse's potting pavilion up close and the crab apple allee, both circa 1960.
