Dylan Jordan Ceramics on Instagram: "A little QC 😊  Although, for me now, this is an important (and satisfying!) step, the end goal is to be much tidier when finishing rims and attaching handles. 😅  I do use a chamois leather, and try to be careful with my hand placement in order to get things as close to perfect as possible. But naturally some pots will show up with these issues 😄 and so will require a little extra TLC! The Potters Shed • Pottery Classes in Adelaide on Instagram: "We have centered and opened the clay, now its the tricky part!   To pull up the walls you will need a lot of practice. Its very hard to tell you the exact amount of pressure that needs to be applied.   A few simple steps can be really helpfull tho.  First and foremost, keep your clay slippery! I cannot stress that enough. Dry walls are recipe for disaster. 😅   The largest amount of clay that you will have to move is from the base of your pot. So pinch that clay and bring that up.   Try to keep your hands connected, specially when your pot is not too tall yet, it will help with keeping the finger position in place, with the same distance all the way up.
