frida on Instagram: "TIPS FOR REGLAZING 🔽 🌀 before anything else: wipe your pot with alcohol! we don’t want fingerprints stopping the glaze from attaching 🌀 use a cheap ~super strong mega hold~ hair spray and spray lightly - let dry completely before applying the glaze (or else the hairspray might peel) 🌀 the already glazed pot won’t absorb the glaze, and therefore it will take forever to dry. use a heat gun to dry between layers! it will also make it easier for the next layer to attach 🌀 if your glaze still slips and slides, heating your pot with a heat gun or in the microwave before applying your first layer will help. a warm pot makes everything easier! #ceramics #pottery #keramik #stonewareglaze #pottersofinstagram #maycoglaze #lavendermist" Reglazing Pottery, Pottery Tips, Lavender Mist, Glaze Ceramics, Pottery Glazes, Slip And Slide, Ceramics Pottery, Hair Spray, Class Ideas

frida on Instagram: "tips for reglazing 🔽
❤️‍🔥 as the surface no longer is porous after the firing, the glaze won’t stick or dry efficiently. therefore, we need to use something to make it adhere. cheap hairspray does the trick, as well as heat - which apart from helping the glaze stick also makes the glaze dry
❤️‍🔥 heating your pot with a heating gun is not always necessary before your first layer, but can definitely be helpful if you find that the glaze is just sliding around. always use it between layers though, as it will take ages to dry if you don’t. and remember: the first layer is the trickiest, so don’t give up if it’s a big mess at first
❤️‍🔥 before you start reglazing - think about the purpose of the reglaze. do you want to get rid of pinholes and still have the same color, Reglazing Pottery, Dry Heat, Glaze, Ceramics
