Baking with Kids - Easy Mini Cinnamon Snails

Otis (7 years) and I often look for recipes to make together. We discovered these cute cinnamon rolls but wanted to make them from scratch and we wanted to make them in a more child-friendly mini size. So we adapted a recipe. They were so fun to make and they taste delicious. They were so good I want to share with you! Most cinnamon rolls recipes use yeast, these are easier for children to make (and are foolproof) using self-raising flour. Ingredients for the Dough: 2 Cups Self-Raising Flour…

Simply spread your cream cheese on a tortilla, add the cheese & deli meat, roll it all up and cut it into slices. I used toothpicks to secure the pickle snail head to the roll. I gently tied knots at the end of the chive onions and used toothpicks to stick those into the pickles to look like antenna’s! Pros: 🌱 We fit a ton of seeds into a tiny space - 30-50 seeds per roll! 🌱 This method uses way less potting soil than other seed starting methods 🌱 The roots of the starts grow nice and long Cons: 🌱 Placing each little seed in such a tight space was tedious. You could sprinkle seeds on the top but we found the roll was way too overcrowded that way and there was a lot of waste in thinning out the starts. 🌱 Most of our starts got leggy pretty quickly and we chose to pot up into individual cups instead of adding soil to the roll. The onion starts are still in the rolls, though, and doing great.
