How to make Danish Pastry
Buttery, flaky, light-as-air homemade Danish dough is easier than you think with this easy recipe. Perfect for all your sweet Danish breakfast cravings, this recipe isn’t a quick fix but it is simple to make. I created this Danish pastry dough recipe that takes just ½ an hour of hands on time and just another 20 to turn it into buttery, flaky breakfast pastries.
Bear Claw Pastry
These bear claws (or bear claw pastry) are buttery, soft, flaky Danish dough filled with sweet almond filling and topped with sugar and almonds. They’re fun to make and totally irresistible. The pastry itself is soft on the inside while the outside gets golden brown and flaky. This laminated dough is a little like making croissant dough but easier!. The filling is sweet, buttery, nutty bliss. Loaded with almond flavour, almond paste is beaten together with butter, egg white and a little sugar.

Chocolate Puff Pastries
These chocolate puff pastries, with just 4 ingredients are so quick and easy to make and incredibly delicious. Flaky, buttery pastry and gooey chocolate - yum! Crispy, buttery puff pastry filled with gooey chocolate - you know these chocolate puff pastries have got to taste good. Perfect with a cuppa for morning tea or make them even more indulgent by adding a scoop of ice cream! For an extra-special touch, these chocolate-filled pastries have an optional, “hasselback” design on top.
Spandauer (Jam and Marzipan Danishes)
Spandauer is the most classic of all Danish pastries. Flaky, buttery pastry filled with marzipan and cream or custard and they're utterly delicious. The pastry itself is my simplified version of traditional Danish pastry dough. I have my super easy Danish dough recipe and this newer one is a slight step up from that. It results in perfectly flaky and buttery Danish pastry with more defined layers but I use some shortcuts so that it's still quicker to make than traditional dough.
Blueberry Danish
This gorgeous blueberry Danish braid is buttery, flaky homemade Danish pastry filled with a simple sweet blueberry compote. A lovely sweet breakfast or brunch. The blueberry filling is a divine combination of just 4 ingredients and is incredibly easy to make too. Lastly, there's an extra special twist with the addition of a crunchy streusel topping. The combination of textures and flavours is just amazing.
