we went to bed at 6pm last night and whenever i woke up my brain would try to slowly reconstruct the phrasing and imagery of McDonald's Honey Bustard Pickled Sea fuck meal and as soon as id get it right i would fall back asleep happened about a dozen times

As much as i love Dungeon Meshi, i do think that given Ryoko Kui's attention to realistic worldbuilding there ought to be a companion series called Dishes Meshi where they spend 2hrs washing and drying and packing away. Alll the goddamnfuck dishes they just made

The other thing that tripped me up today was the fact that they just straight up had butter. No context. How did they get butter?? How did they keep it fresh????? Is it room temp?? Why did it melt so slow if it was room temp?

That and all the salt and pepper they constantly have. I could believe that they just had a magic spell and that's part of why Marcille hates food so much (the mana drain) but the Butter. I really had to put that thought away so I didn't spend the rest of the episode with my thoughts consumed by trying to think of a watsonian explanation
