hi y’all i just wanted to put you onto this fundraiser for the buffalo nations grasslands alliance. they’re trying to recoup some of the funds for black-footed ferret conservation on tribal grounds that the trump/musk administration has frozen, which is impacting not only the conservation efforts themselves but the livelihoods of the people working on them. the frozen grant is 1.1 million but this fundraiser has a goal of 50,000.
the fundraiser has 24 days left and has only reached 2% of its goal with 11 donations. black-footed ferrets are an endangered lazarus taxon that was thought to be extinct from 1979-1981 before being rediscovered by accident. they’re a miracle of conservation and it would be horrible to lose them for good, not to mention (again) the impact of people working with these animals losing their jobs which is outlined in the fundraiser link. indigenous-led conservation efforts are extremely important for a wide variety of reasons and as someone in the zoology area i feel obligated to share this fundraiser to contribute to those efforts.
i know that things are hard right now and there’s a lot of people and organizations all across the world that need help, so don’t feel pressured BUT if you have extra money and you can contribute to this fundraiser or share it with people who can that would be great.

I wasn’t aware of this one, so I’m trying to spread the word.
Black faith leaders have called for a 40-day “fast” from Target for Lent in response to their compliance with Trump’s resegregation agenda.
Now this is an effective boycott. It is targeting (ha) a specific company with a clearly stated goal. The amount of time is long enough to be noticed, and could be extended if needed. Anything that can be purchased at Target can also be obtained elsewhere, so it is actually possible to boycott this specific company for a very long time. Target is caving to fascism and rolling back their diversity and inclusion policies. The goal is for them to reverse that decision. This is an achievable goal.
Boycotting everything all at once, for one day or for as long as you can, because everything is terrible and we’re mad about it…does nothing. It’s vague, disorganized, and frankly impossible. We have to buy things sometimes. You can’t just target the economy as a whole. You have to be specific.
If you want to start a boycott, use this one as an example. Choose one target. Provide one (simple, clear, easy to explain) reason why that company deserves to be boycotted. Explain what you want them to do differently. Make sure that it is something that can actually be done. Then tell people about it.
I love it when you change one tiny thing in a game and it breaks stuff in unexpected ways
I wanted to see if i could make custom textures for story of seasons trio of towns and turns out if your body info is invalid you disappear but your massive head plants itself in the middle of the map
or who could forget the time when i was working on the robin mod and i guess the data for the enemy units broke in such a way that it replaced them with data for player units, but only if loaded from a quicksave
or a few weeks later when i was testing the mod on cfw and when i walked into the lottery shop, instead of loading the right room it showed the last map i had entered and then promptly crashed my 3ds (honestly shocked i got a screenshot of this one) i have absolutely no idea what caused this, it hasn’t happened since
and i don’t have very good example pics anymore but in at least gen 5 pokemon if you have a follower and use walk through walls to bypass the event that makes them leave they’ll just stay with you indefinitely and that itself breaks a whole bunch of other shit. like if you enter an event that’s meant to be a single battle only it’ll force it to be a double battle instead, letting you catch —–

Back in the first few days of 2019, i happened to draw a thing based on the song Rabid Child, just for fun. But what i drew didn’t match the picture i had in my head, so i kept trying at it. It became a thing i did not-quite-every year, trying to get it right, and something i did to gauge how my skills had improved over the previous year (or two).
The 2023 one is pretty close to the original idea i had. Since i didn’t figure it’d be very interesting to essentially just do the same thing again, i decided to make it in paper this time around; i really love how it turned out! This is probably the last year i’ll iterate on this specific idea; starting next year, i’ll have to find something new to replace it.
