For the majority of people, it takes 130 quality hours to get fit.

That number is the equivalent of training hard, an hour a day, 5 days a week, for 6 months. If you’re able to do that while paying attention to your behaviors outside of the gym you’ll be successful. Almost every single person i’ve trained has made considerable progress in 6 months’ time following those parameters. One-hundred thirty hours in 6 months is the answer for most people, and it’s totally doable.

Then again, some people want it faster than 6 months and I have seen people make equally radical transformations in just 3 months—but the 130-hour rule still stands. To accumulate the 130 hours you’d have to train twice a day for an hour, Monday through Friday, Daily Exercises, Paying Attention, Still Standing, 1k Views, Single Person, Be Successful, Train Hard, Daily Workout, Some People

Most of us, just need to learn the basics of a skill, but don’t because they get stuck on the “1000 hours” that it will take them to be pro.

In his TedTalk speech, Josh says he learned to play the ukulele to prove this concept.

So, the next time you want to learn a new skill don’t stop yourself because ‘it will take too long to learn’ - it’s just 20 hours!
