This is a hilarious mistranslation actually. I suspect it originally said something along the lines of “Impregnerad mot vatten”, i.e. “Water proof”.
Impregnering is the process of making a material resistant to water/heat. The swedish word for water (vatten) is similar to the word for goblin (vätten) so I guess there was a mixup.
mistranslation? or incredible branding decision
Crime scene footage taken by police at the February 29th 2000 murder of John Price by his partner Katherine Knight, the very same day he filled a restraining order against her. Knight was abusive toward Price and had physically assaulted him numerous times prior to the murder. The crime scene was at Price’s house in Aberdeen, Australia. Chillingly the day the murder occurred, Price warned his fellow coworkers that if he didn’t show up to work the following day that Knight had killed him.
1. & 2. After arriving home from work Price fell asleep on the couch. He was awoken by Knight who had entered his home and then convinced him to have sex with her in the bedroom. Despite his reservations he knew of Knight’s violent temper and agreed to do so to please her. Once Price was asleep Knight attacked him with a butcher’s cleaver and began stabbing him. As the blood stains indicate, Price attempted to run away from Knight who continued to stab him as he bumped into walls as he fled. As Price opened the entrance of the house Knight dragged him back inside where he died shortly after from blood loss. He had been stabbed a total of thirty seven times in the abdomen, chest, head and neck.
3. & 4. After the murder Knight left the house to do some errands and upon returning, skinned Price’s body and hanged the near complete pelt off the decorative arch in the lounge room doorway. The skinless body was decapitated and the drip blood stains on the kitchen floor indicate the moving of the severed head.
5. & 6. Price’s head was found roasted in the large steel pot with potato, pumpkin, cabbage, zucchini and squash. The blood stained knife was used to slice off chunks of flesh that was served with gravy to complete the meal. Knight set the table for two of Price’s children (who were not home at the time) and labelled each plate with their names. A third plate was found thrown in the garden. It is speculated this what remained of the meal Knight had eaten herself but could not stomach.
7. Knight sat down at the kitchen bench, smoked a cigarette and took a large cocktail of prescription medication in a suicide attempt.
8. Knight was found at 8am the following day in a comatose state in bed by police after concerned neighbors noticed blood stains at the front door of the premises. She was rushed to hospital by ambulance and made a full recovery. Knight was found guilty of murder and was the first woman in Australia to be given the sentence of never to be released from prison.
