The fact that Alviarin was in the Hall for the entire thing and did NOTHING to help Liandrin is so funny to me. Subtle back up during the debate? Nah. Wouldn’t be logical. Joining the mad dash escape? Nope, Liandrin isn’t worth blowing her cover for. Even a cursory warning or signal that Siuan had recovered and was heading for her? Not on your life.
You have to imagine Liandrin has been a massive headache for the BA leadership for decades at this point and Alviarin is probably blaming her for getting them into this situation in the first place. So she’s ready to just sit back and let Liandrin fucking swing. Miss ‘tired of hiding and wants all the power and glory and everyone to kneel to her’ can go right ahead and see how it works out not having the vast carefully constructed espionage apparatus of the BA on her side.
