The great feminist author and critic Gloria Steinem did a television interview shortly after she lost her husband. The interviewer asked her if she was depressed.

‘I’m not depressed,’ she said. 'I’m sad.’

The interviewer asked her the difference. ‘When you’re depressed, nothing has any meaning,’ she replied. ‘When you’re sad, everything does.’

GYM RULES
1.WIPE DOWN YOUR MACHINE
2.If the gym is crowded, don’t hog machines
3.Don’t stare at people
4.If someone is new (and doesn’t know the machine) help them
5.Don’t compete with strangers next to you
6.If you ruined someones empty gym at least say good morning
7.If you’ve done with the fan aim it at a near by sweaty person (they will be extremely grateful)
8. Respect other gym members and how they work out (including clothes, time and speed)
9. Don’t judge people for sweating - you should aim for that too

Palestinian children return to school for the first time since Israel’s latest attack on Gaza but not all students made it back. Sarah Al-Dalou had to be excused from class as she — along with 9 other members of her family and 2 neighbors [graphic] — were killed by an Israeli airstrike when F-16 fighter jets reduced their house in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in Gaza to rubble.

A sign now occupies her seat instead, calling her a ‘martyr’. She is one of over 30 children killed by the Israeli Army during their week-long assault on the blockaded coastal enclave, with 161 Palestinians dead in total.

Signs replaced the once-occupied seats at al-Fakhura School in the Jabaliya refugee camp in Gaza; names of victims written under the word in red: ‘Martyr’, 24 January, 2009.
