Barry Warsaw95aee622008-09-04 13:44:354These release notes describe unfinished work, or important notes that Python
53.0 adopters need to be aware of. This is not a complete list of changes for
6Python 3.0 -- for that, see Misc/NEWS.

15Additional notes for Python 3.0 final
16-------------------------------------
Barry Warsaw160b9a32008-05-08 11:54:1317
Barry Warsaw95aee622008-09-04 13:44:3518* The bsddb3 package has been removed from the standard library. It is
19 available as a separate distutils based package from the Python Cheeseshop.
20 If you need bsddb3 support in Python 3.0, you can find it here:

24* The email package needs quite a bit of work to make it consistent with
25 respect to bytes and strings. There have been discussions on
Barry Warsaw38a29bb2008-12-03 17:15:1326 email-sig@python.org about where to go with the email package for Python
27 3.0, but this was not resolved in time for 3.0 final. With enough care
28 though, the email package in Python 3.0 should be about as usable as it is
29 with Python 2.
