Alysha Whitfield | Bee Jeweled Coop on Instagram: "Have you ever sprouted lentils for your chickens? 🌱🐓
Here’s how to get started:

1. Pick Up Lentils: Next time you’re at the grocery store, grab a bag of lentils.

2. Find the Perfect Container: Use a non-airtight vessel for plenty of breathing space, helping prevent mold.

3. Begin with a Layer: Just barely cover the jar’s bottom with lentils.

4. Soak Overnight: Fill the jar with water and let the lentils soak until morning (about 8 hours)

5. Drain and Rinse: After soaking, drain, rinse, and leave the lentils moist but not waterlogged. Repeat this step twice daily.

6. Continue Until Ready: Keep up the rinse and drain cycle twice a day until the lentils are sprouted and ready to serve to your chickens!
