The key to selecting the right box height is to go as high as you can without rounding your lower back or shifting your hips to the side. The higher the bench, the better for the glutes but start low and work your way up.   Some cues:   ✅ Wear a flat shoe  ✅ drive through your heel and hinge at your hips to maximally activate your glutes  ✅ Squeeze your glutes at the top! ✅ When you’re coming down, do it SLOW!!! While@pushing your hips back  ✅ LAND LIGHT!!! If you’re struggling with traditional step-ups, this variation might be just what you need. The movement mimics step-ups, targeting the same muscle groups, but in reverse—you’re stepping down instead of up. 

That said, most gyms only have one or two of these machines, and they’re typically used for pull-ups. So if you decide to give this exercise a try, please be considerate of others who may need to use the machine for its intended purpose. Be polite, share the equipment, and if someone needs to work in, let them do so. We’re all in this together, after all!
