Wes Wilson Wes Wilson was born July 15, 1937. He is an American artist and one of the leading designers of psychedelic posters. In 1968, he received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts for “his contributions to American Art.” He pioneered what is now known as the psychedelic poster. Wilson grew up more interested in nature and the outdoors than in art.
