This study examines college student's perception about marriage and family based on whether or not the individual has divorced parents or married parents. Past experiences can result from divorce can have negative impact on an individual and may in fact affect their future decisions.

This article borrows the concept of ''metaphorical framing'' from cognitive linguistics and uses it to engage cognitive foreign policy analysis (CFPA) with social constructivism. By accounting for the mutual constitution of agents and social structures (on one hand), and the interaction of somatic and social meaning (on the other), metaphorical framing narrows the gap between cognitive and constructivist approaches and enriches them both. Though it claims a ''middle ground'' between idealism and materialism, constructivism ignores how the shared meanings that constitute actors are embodied, that is, produced by the evolved human body-brain and its situatedness in the world. Metaphorical framing ''fleshes out'' constructivism, allowing it to theorize the causal micro-foundations of constitutive effects. On the other hand, CFPA brackets the social dimension of meaning. Metaphorical framing accounts for the shared meanings that constitute actors. It explains how these meanings are instantiated in the mind, and how they shape reasoning. Accounting for intersubjectivity in decisionmaking, then, helps CFPA avoid reductionism. While narrowing the gap between two research traditions, metaphorical framing also advances theories of discourse, persuasion, rhetoric, emotion, and decisionmaking. Ultimately, metaphorical framing facilitates theoretically integrative, methodologically pluralist research on the nature and role of meaning in foreign policy. (2011) 7, 423-446

During the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the tourism industry of Bavaria consistently promoted an image of 'grounded modernity'. This romanticized version of the present reconciled continuity with change, tradition with progress, and nature with science. In an era of rapid and unprecedented change, simultaneously nostalgic and progressive grounded modernity produced an illusion of continuity. It helped make the experience of modernity more tangible by linking impersonal and abstract ideas, like national identity, with familiar experiences and concrete sights. Bavarian Tourism and the Modern World, 1800–1950 examines the connections between Bavarian tourism and the turbulent experience of German modernity during this period. It gauges Germany's long and often unsettling journey to modernity using Bavarian tourism and travel as a lens. Closely examining guidebooks, brochures, postcards and other tourist propaganda, Adam Rosenbaum argues that by pointing visitors to the past, tourism illuminated the present, and produced signposts to the future.

The 1987 field season of the Jackson Lake Archeological Project was part of an ongoing project sponsored by the Bureau of Reclamation in conjunction with the repair of the Jackson Lake dam. The field seasons of 1984 and 1985 were spent inventorying the area exposed by the drawdown of the reservoir. This constituted the area around the lake between the elevations of 6772 feet and 6745 feet above sea level (Connor 1985, 1986). The field season of 1986 was spent testing sites which appeared promising (Connor 1987). In 1987, major excavations were undertaken at sites 48TE509 and 48TE1067. This was a very dry year and the reservoir dropped to the pre-reservoir lake levels. Additional inventory in this area recorded 40 new sites. In total, the Jackson Lake Archeological Project has inventoried about 8550 acres and recorded 109 archeological sites that were flooded by the reservoir. Several authors have tested the accuracy of the Total Body Score (TBS) method for quantifying decomposition, but none have examined the reliability of the method as a scoring system by testing interobserver error rates. Sixteen participants used the TBS system to score 59 observation packets including photographs and written descriptions of 13 human cadavers in different stages of decomposition (postmortem interval: 2-186 days). Data analysis used a two-way random model intraclass correlation in SPSS (v. 17.0). The TBS method showed "almost perfect" agreement between observers, with average absolute correlation coefficients of 0.990 and average consistency correlation coefficients of 0.991. While the TBS method may have sources of error, scoring reliability is not one of them. Individual component scores were examined, and the influences of education and experience levels were investigated. Overall, the trunk component scores were the least concordant. Suggestions are made to improve the reliability of the TBS method.

The Jackson Lake Archaeol<XJical Project conpleted its 5th and final field season in late October, 1988. While the current drought caused many problemcs, the lowered water levels in Jackson Lake allowed rcore archaeological v.ork to be accomplished than imagined at the inception of the project in 1984.
