Tocino
Our first steps tour and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki—it is really easy. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Vandalism
editplease dont reveret the CIA maps as the CIA clearly recognises (if I may say so) Kosovo (look at the source I gave you), and since you claim that UN doesn't recognise it so it cant be on their maps than according to you it can be on the maps of those who recognise, e.g CIA, European Union (most of it at least, but majority is over minority, right?) and some maps of countries who do recognise, otherwise you will contradict yourself and actually prove that you are vandalising, have a good day --Cradel (talk) 20:50, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Pleas comment here --Cradel (talk) 17:28, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
Edit warring
editPlease stop with your edit warring, continuing to do so will result in a block. Try to discuss with the user instead of reverting each other, you don't get anywhere with that but discussing it with the user can. Best regards, --Kanonkas(talk) 13:16, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Kosovo on maps
editI've written out a small proposal on how to treat Kosovo on maps here: Image talk:Continental-Europe-map.png#Kosovo - a solution. I'd like your feedback. Thanks! Hoshie (talk) 11:04, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi,
I have protected this image because of a editwar. Since you worked on this image i would like to hear you opinion about what version should be used. The discussion can be found at Image talk:EU on kosovo independence.png
Blocked
editI've blocked you for 3 days because you are making obviously inappropriate image replacements despite past warnings. If you are willing to stop, I'll lift the block early. If you continue after the block, it will simply be extended. It is your choice whether to contribute constructively here - please work with other editors on this issue rather than imposing your own view and thereby destroying the work of others. — Mike.lifeguard 00:13, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
You have been blocked for a duration of 2 weeks
editYou have been blocked from editing Commons for a duration of 2 weeks for the following reason: Vandalism on maps, reverting without prior discussions.
If you wish to make useful contributions, you may do so after the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may add {{unblock|(enter your reason here) ~~~~}} below this message explaining clearly why you should be unblocked. See also the block log. For more information, see Appealing a block.

- I hope you blocked User:Turkish Flame as well. As they say, "it takes two to tango". In fact, User:Turkish Flame has reverted more than just me on these maps, as evidenced by his user history [1] --Tocino 06:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, why? He only reverted files to their initial version. If you can not reach a consense to change the image permanently (you did not even try this) and you like to have different versions on Commons you should upload them under a differnt filename. There is not the "one and only" truth at Commons, Commons provides a lot of maps from all points of view. So there is a place here for your maps and others, but apparently not under the same filename. --Martin H. (talk) 07:02, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- So it's perfectly fine for him to revert multiple users, not just me, 7 different times in just a couple of days? He hasn't made any effort to reach consensus either. --Tocino 07:09, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
- No, i can not follow your point. The images i observed, the locator maps, were initially uploaded by him depicting Kosovo as a separated teritory or country. He did not do anything wrong by reverting your uncommented edits. He seems to have some havy problems with copyrights, but thats another concern. --Martin H. (talk) 09:12, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
File:BlankMap-World.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

editThis media may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:BlankMap-World.png, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |

Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Tocino. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Tocino~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
