Hi, I am an admin on He-Wikipedia. I'd like to help with the translations, problematic POV images and descriptions. I have received some requests from our local He-wikipedia and feel I will be usefull as an admin. Yonidebest 15:15, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Only 21 edits on Commons at time of nomination; that's quite far below the minimum of 200. Cnyborg 17:23, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the minimum requirement mentioned anywhere... Yellow up 17:47, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see, I guess this nomination has to be canceled. Yellow up 17:53, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's pretty easy to make the guess that this nomination came as a result of the NPOV dispute. While adminship might not be the best route to take to solve that (anyone can re-upload images and propose deletion of the badly named one, and admins can just delete at will), I looked through the list of admins, and found only one identified as a Hebrew-speaker, and that at level 2 (intermediate level). Getting an admin with Hebrew as his/her first language would be a good idea for several reasons; on a multilingual projects, we need admins with a wide variety of linguistic backgrounds and of course there is the issue of trust between Commons and Hebrew Wikipedia. Either finding someone who fulfills the requirements, or contributing to Commons with a focus on clean-up work and assisiting other users (i.e. typical admin tasks) so that the requirements are met, would probably lead to a successful nomination. I disagree. This is the correct way to solve the NPOV dispute. Drork tried to remove the POV descriptions by changing them to a tern acceptable by the work community. One of the administrators reverted his contributions, protected the page and called him a vandalist. He also left anti Semitic remarks about Israel on several occasions. This is why I think I can contribute with fair and NPOV opinions and remove such offensive content from a Wikimedia foundation project.
I think that in this case, an exception should be taken in order to assure that anti Semitic image names and descriptions will not be handled as it is being handled up to now. My 21 edit will increase later on this month as I am quiting my job. Yonidebest 18:50, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There are clear policies about sysoping. You can't just ask to be a sysop, as exception of the policites, to do something which anybody else can do. The correct way to solve this NPOV dispute is re-uploading the images in another name (saying the name of the original uploader), and marking them as {{Duplicate}} – then some administrator will delete them. If you don't want to do it, don't complain that no one does it. – rotemlissTalk 20:04, 8 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
