Zu dieser Allegorie saß 1775 die damals achtzehnjährige Gräfin Auguste von Reuß-Ebersdorf und Lobenstein Modell, die als eine der schönsten Frauen ihrer Zeit galt. Als Mutter von Leopold I., König von Belgien (1831-1865) und Großmutter der englischen Königin Victoria ist sie Stammmutter bedeutender europäischer Königshäuser.

For this well known allegory, the eighteen years old Countess Augusta Reuss-Ebersdorf and Lobenstein (1757–1831) stood model in 1775. She was known as the most beautiful woman in the area. The wife of Franz Friedrich Duke of Sachsen-Coburg-Saalfeld, she is an ancestress to numerous Royal families. Her son was King Leopold I. of Belgium, her granddaughter was Queen Victoria of England.
