Iconographic research of Fourth Window Saint Bernard– Visitable construction of the basilica of Saint-Denis (France)

Dear Sir,

Suivez la Flèche is an association created to rebuild the north tower and the spire of the Basilica of Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis, France). It will open the site to visitors in spring 2025, when laying of the first stones.

To visually narrate the story of the spire, a didactic gallery will be curated, highlighting medieval construction techniques and the Basilica's evolution. We aim to select images that ensure the most immersive experience for our visitors, prioritizing the highest available quality for commercial purposes.

After conducting research, it appears that you may have access to the desired image "Enniscorthy St. Aidan's Cathedral East Aisle Fourth Window Saint Bernard 2009 09 28.jpg" in a suitable format (2000x3000px 300dpi or higher jpeg or tiff). Could you kindly provide us with the image, if available, and inform us of any conditions or permissions required for its use? The funds allocated by the French State and the Ile-de-France region support the ongoing construction works. However, we are seeking sponsors to contribute to the design of an educational pathway, particularly the iconography, aimed at showcasing the construction site and the various associated trades, within a region undergoing significant development.

Thank you for your attention to this matter,

Sincerely,

Julie PETIT Julie Petit (talk) 15:30, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Julie Petit, thank you for your interest in File:Enniscorthy St. Aidan's Cathedral East Aisle Fourth Window Saint Bernard 2009 09 28.jpg. This photo is available in a resolution of 908 × 3116 pixels using this link. You are free to use it without any royalties for commercial purposes, just credit it to my name “Andreas F. Borchert”. Please let me know if you need this photo in a better quality or higher resolution. In September I will have the opportunity to photograph this window again using a better camera. See File:Loughrea St. Brendan's Cathedral East Aisle John the Evangelist by Michael Healy (Stitched) 2019 09 05.jpg for a similarly sized window with a resolution of 2,430 × 8,379 pixels. Such a photo could be made available to you in October 2024. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 15:49, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask you to look at this DR? The recent message seems to me to be a personal attack, but unsure. Ankry (talk) 08:29, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ankry, thank you. I've taken care of that and closed the DR. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 09:30, 11 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Adamant1: Seriously? This is a window from 1540 where the restorations are covered by {{FoP-France}}. Please have a look at the file description. Regards, AFBorchert (talk) 07:00, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The file has a category for the stained glass artist Paul Bony who clearly wasn't around in 1540 because he died in 1982. So either the file description or category is wrong. I don't really care which, but they can't both be right and I couldn't find any indication anywhere about who the original artist was or what exactly he has to do with it. So at least IMO we should defer to COM:PCP unless you know the details and just didn't include them or something. "restored and completed" is also pretty ambigious. "Completed" could mean anything from Paul Bony adding their own elements to recreating an original drawing or something. --Adamant1 (talk) 07:05, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
