Nedaaymo (talk · contribs) is a sockpuppet of Seyed haji (talk · contribs), created on 15 April 2024 when the latter was blocked for abusing multiple accounts and for uploading unfree files after warnings. Commons:Auto-protected files/misc/logos

Is it possible to deprotect this page Commons:Auto-protected files/misc/logos at least for a while for me to better categorized some of the logos present in that category. Berdea (talk) 14:18, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Berdea: how would unprotecting the category page help you in categorizing the logos? - Jmabel ! talk 05:41, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel: Thank you to take care about my question.
I am currently working on Wikipedia editions in different languages (see [1]).
I take the opportunity of this work, to put each of the logos used in these Wikipedia editions in the right category. For example, I add the "Category:Dagaare Wikipedia logos" to the "File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-dga.svg", I do not of course touch the already existing category.
I have made several requests (see "Category:Commons protected edit requests") but no one comes to make the requested changes.
To simplify my work and to simplify the work of the administrators, I propose either to unprotect the files on this page: "Commons:Auto-protected files/misc/logos", or to give me temporary administrator status.
For information, if you want to modify the files concerned, you get the following message: "This page is currently protected from editing because it is transcluded in the following page, which is protected with the "cascading" option enabled"
Thank you

@Berdea: You can ask Admins to do the categorizing for you at COM:AN.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 15:43, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Berdea: there is absolutely no chance you will be given temporary administrator status. That is like saying to someone who operates a company's fleet of vehicles, "I need to get to the store, can I have the key to every car in the fleet?"
Unprotecting the page Commons:Auto-protected files/misc/logos will do exactly nothing to help you edit any of the logos that are on the page. Each of those is (or possibly is not) protected in its own right, and the protection of a page is completely independent of the protection of each individual logo. - Jmabel ! talk 18:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC) I see, they are cascade-protected, sorry. - Jmabel ! talk 18:16, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you make a request here, preferably in the form of a 2-column table, listing what files you want edited and what categories you want added (and/or removed, which might call for a third column), I'm sure an admin will follow it up for you. - Jmabel ! talk 18:19, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jmabel and Jeff G.: I will do it. Thanks for your comments. --Berdea (talk) 20:38, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
