Today we would like to nominate FDMS4 to become an interface admin. FDMS4 has been active on Commons since 2013, and over the years has contributed in many different areas on Commons. He has been a license reviewer and OTRS volunteer since 2014, and in 2016 he has written the first OTRS release generator, a tool on Wikimedia Tool Forge making it much easier for copyright holders to release works on Commons under a free license. Now FDMS4 has created a new version that works right here on Commons, much like a gadget, his work on the release generator would be much easier with interface admin privileges, since otherwise he cannot make updates or bugfixes on the release generator JS pages in the MediaWiki namespace himself.

FDMS4 is a trustworthy user who has shown a deep understanding of Commons' policies, therefore we ask the community to support this nomination for interface admin. Interface admins can edit CSS and JS pages as well as other pages in the MediaWiki namespace – the interface admin right does not include other admin rights such as deleting content or blocking users.

Candidate acceptance
Thank you Steinsplitter and zhuyifei1999 for the nomination! Interface admin rights would be of great help implementing additional features and internationalisation of the release generator, as well as other new tools I might write, therefore I gladly accept this nomination.    FDMS  4    19:33, 4 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Eugene, I already have (sort of) a babel in the sidebar of my user page – for other languages, I generally use online translation services and respond in English.    FDMS  4    17:17, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bureaucrat who will close this request will have hard time to fill various Commons:List of administrators. Also Commons:Babel provides categorization. --EugeneZelenko (talk) 13:55, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Again, despite the naming structure, this is not an adminship. I'm not entirely sure listing FDMS4 on the "list of administrators" is appropriate as they will not be one. But whatever the closing 'crat wants to do I guess. --Majora (talk) 16:01, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, and done.    FDMS  4    16:50, 6 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • @FDMS4: Please note that per the WMF's policy, interface administrators must have two-factor authentication active. While I see that you are a member of the oathauth-tester group if you could just confirm that you have this set I would appreciate it. --Majora (talk) 17:10, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I can confirm that I have set up and enabled 2FA for my account.    FDMS  4    17:17, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
