Out of scope: unused (outside userspace) AI-generated illustration, unusable due to extensive gibberish text ("breakepochal fireakthroighs", etc). Omphalographer (talk) 20:05, 12 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not delete. This is for demonstration purpose, if we can use AI and how. We had a "Zukunftskongress" with Wikimedia DE/AT/CH, where the CEO of ask.com had a talk and the question was widely discussed. For further discussion I need an example, therefore only at my disk. The "extensive gibberish text" is one reason for good demonstration. There is no license problem, the AI has the text "freely associated" in fragments. For ask.com this is art :-). Thankyou. --Wortulo (talk) 05:41, 13 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's... fair enough. Is there some time frame we can delete this after? I understand what you're trying to do here, but I'd also like to try to avoid holding to too much of this sort of AI-generated "sludge" if we can avoid it.
For what it's worth, another example of AI-generated nonsense (also currently up for deletion, but potentially keepable if it's valuable as a warning!) is File:Südamerika Phantasiekarte KI chatGPT.webp, in which the AI attempts to draw and label a map of South America. I understand your point and I am also very afraid, that there arises a big problem. Please visit my German discussion page, probably you can translate from German the purpose for this example. Time: our next D-A-CH WikiCon is in autumn, probably I need it for a contribution.
I have found @Commons:AI-generated media regarding project scope: Per the Commons project scope, only media that are realistically useful for an educational purpose should be hosted on Commons. This purpose is fulfilled (educational purpose for all authors - instructional regarding use of AI generated), therefore please keep file. Further use, not only on my discussion page, we will discuss. --Wortulo (talk) 06:55, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I use the file now also in our WikiProject KI and Wikipedia. So the educational purpose as example increased. --Wortulo (talk) 19:58, 3 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: per Wortulo, in use in a WikiProject / for demonstration purposes; although I would usually delete files such as this one, the arguments brought forward for keeping this particular file are cogent. --Gestumblindi (talk) 20:48, 12 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
