- English: In the 960s, a lighter-weight (by 1/12) solidus was issued in parallel with a full-weight solidus, both preserving the standard of fineness. The lighter coin was called a tetarteron (Greek for "quarter") and the full weight solidus was called the histamenon ("standard").
