English: A lathe, in woodworking and metalworking, is a machine tool which spins a block of material so that when abrasive or cutting tools are applied to the block, it can be shaped to produce an object which has rotational symmetry about an axis of rotation.
Français : Un tour (machine-outil), dans le travail du bois et des métaux, est une machine-outil qui fait tourner un bloc de matériau de sorte que lorsque des outils abrasifs ou coupants sont appliqués sur le bloc, il peut être façonné pour produire un objet qui a une symétrie de rotation autour d'un axe de rotation.
