Please delete File:Photo of Konstantin Vanshenkin.jpg !
[edit]It hoped that it must be enough to write that author of the file gave it me with unlimited permission for publication. But now I see warning template... Please delete the file, and after that I'll ask author to upload it herself. Thank You! Александр Васильев (talk) 20:00, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Even if the owner re-uploads the file, no one on WikiCommons could tell. I suggest you follow the links provided above and send written permission to that email with a brief description of the situation (See COM:ET). Don't worry, you should have a week to do this. Thanks! Rough translation by Google Translate EoRdE6 (talk) 20:06, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thank You for answer! But author of this files lives in Moscow and I leave in Kiev. I can't get permission on paper from she! That's why I request You to simply delete file to let her upload it from Moscow and write permission herself in the page! Александр Васильев (talk) 22:02, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
- That's fine, just go to the image page and paste {{speedydelete|7. Author or uploader request deletion}} at the top of the page. EoRdE6 (talk) 00:08, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

Welcome, Dear Patroller!
[edit]
Hi EoRdE6,
You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.
As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.
We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.
If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons.

[edit]Hello, I just noticed that this image was marked as kept but is still marked for deletion: File:Aljo Bendijo as one of the hosts of One Morning cafe shown simulcast over RPN 9, PTV 4 and IBC 13- 2014-04-01 17-34.jpg. Thanks, The Haz talk 04:02, 31 January 2015 (UTC)

File:FritzAdam.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

- BTW: You transferred the preview version (475 × 600 pixels) instead of the full size (555 × 701 pixels). Did you do this on purpose, e.g. since the quality is so bad? --Leyo 15:07, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- Nope, complete rookie mistake that was. Feel free to overwrite if it is better. Thanks! EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 03:14, 23 April 2015 (UTC)
File:Naturalis Biodiversity Center - L.1915777 - Rosa elliptica Tausch ex Tratt. var. andresiana - herbarium sheet.jpg
[edit]Dear EoRdE6,
I saw you do not recognise the OTRS-permission PermissionOTRS | id=2015050810012748 | Edoderoo added by Dutch OTRS here. As in my previous mass uploads (some 3000, e.g. Category:Images from the Peace Palace Library, hopefully thousands of Naturalis images to come) I am allowed to use the given OTRS-permission (without |Edoderoo) on later uploads in the same approved project. If you are allowed entry in the OTRS ticket system, you can read the discussion (in Dutch).
- Is there a systematic problem?
- Could you please put the permission back on the Rosa elliptica? (Like it?)
Thanks, Hansmuller (talk) 08:40, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Hansmuller: I have put the permission back on the image. While I don't understand all of what you said, I trust the OTRS permission has been verified by a dutch OTRS volunteer and you were simply adding the tags back. No worries, I have restored the tag and will leave the rest alone. EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 18:31, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
- Perhaps this problem is something to sort out with the national permission OTRS offices together, so that there can be no misunderstandings (like mentioning explicitly in the tag which uploader is entitled to place the tag)...or... leave the ambiguity as it is, as long as all goes well ;-) Cheers, Hansmuller (talk) 10:44, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Welcome, Dear Filemover!
[edit]
Hi EoRdE6, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:
- Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
- Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
- Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.

File names
[edit]Great shots of Park Street and Alewife! Would you be willing to adopt the same filename style that I do, with the month and year at the end? I feel that it better positions Commons to be a long-term archive, especially with subjects like MBTA stations that may be significantly modified from year to year, since users can see the date in a category or search. Cheers, Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:12, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- @Pi.1415926535: Sure, I always struggle balancing lengthy file names and detailed file names but I see your point (and I take no issue with you modifying my uploads if you think you can make them work better into the overall structure because I know you have basically singlehandedly organized MBTA files on here). I'll do my best to do that going forward and may take a stab at modifying my existing ones tomorrow when I'm more awake.
- On a side note, how on earth do you find out about new transit uploads so quickly? I'm impressed... EoRdE6(Come Talk to Me!) 03:16, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks! Your file names tend to be on the shorter side anyway; appending the month and year shouldn't make them too long. I might rename a few where the date is particularly important.
- An obsessive amount of editing (and checking my watchlists) while I'm sheltered-in-place indefinitely. In this case, you happened to upload them while I was cooking dinner, and I started editing as I ate. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:37, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

South Coast Rail photos
[edit]Thanks so much for getting those aerial shots! East Taunton has been damn near impossible to photograph from the ground, so I'm incredibly grateful that you were able to get some from the air. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 04:13, 16 April 2024 (UTC)
- Of course! I'd been meaning to make a trip out there for ages anyway, I was disappointed I couldn't get any farther than the access road so I'm glad I brought the drone, would've been a serious waste of a $10 weekend CR pass and a lot of biking if I didn't have anything to show for it...
