Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Oursound.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Oursound.jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.

Tip: Categorizing images

Hello, Pr3st0n!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Hi, Pr3st0n. While reviewing some of your images on Wikipedia, I noticed that File:Lostock Hall 10D MPD 27-07-68.jpg had been copied here. I'm afraid that I don't see anything to verify the license at the original source. If you have verification of permission, please go ahead and forward that. Since there's no indication that there might be, I've gone ahead and tagged the copyright concern on the version here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:16, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Me again. :) Just as on Wikipedia, I've tagged the three images that bear watermarked copyright to Phil Stringer as needing verification of licensing permission. One single license release should take care of both Commons and Wikipedia, since the necessary licensing statement covers usage anywhere. If you want to talk to me about it, please let me know at our home project, since I don't come here that often. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:27, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Whoops. Never mind. I found the url from which these originated. Since there's no indication of permission there, I've gone ahead and tagged them as copyright problems. If Reverend Stringer has given you permission, you can tag them accordingly. Don't worry if you don't get to it; they can be restored once that permission is processed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:38, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise, File:Pleasant Retreat Inn, Lostock Hall.jpg seems to have been copied from [1]. I don't see anything there indicating this license. :/ --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:43, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
File:LostockHallLibrary.jpg seems to belong to David Scott, who reserves all rights. I have tagged it as a copyright concern. I have tagged File:Oursoundlogotodl.jpg for verification of license. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:57, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As you know, my primary conversation to you about this is on your Wikipedia page, but I also wanted to let you know that I've tagged File:Todd Hall, Lostock Hall, c1937.jpg for permission, while both File:Lostock Hall, Leyland Road c1965.jpg and File:Lostock Hall, Watkin Lane c1955.jpg have been tagged as copyright problems. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:18, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Pay attention to copyright
File:Todd Hall-2009.jpg has been marked as a possible copyright violation. Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content—that is, images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Traditional copyright law does not grant these freedoms, and unless noted otherwise, everything you find on the web is copyrighted and not permitted here. For details on what is acceptable, please read Commons:Licensing. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules useful, or you can ask questions about Commons policies at the Commons:Help desk. If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
