Some policies
[edit]Hi Regomaniq, welcome to Commons.
- File:Hendrick van Balen (I) 001.jpg - You shouldn't have requested a rename here. The user doing the rename made a mistake here. We don't rename to improve file names. You can find the policy at [[Commons:File renaming]
- File:Balen, Hendrick van - Diana Turns Actaeon into a Stag - c. 1605.jpg - Don't overwrite existing files. For artworks it's only acceptable to overwrite if someone uploaded a low resolution version and the same source also provides a high resolution version of the same photo. In this case it's a completely different photo, please uploaded it under a new filename. You can find the policy at Commons:Overwriting existing files

PD-Art
[edit]Please read Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag. When uploading an image such as File:Peter Casteels (III) - Still life of flowers in a gilt urn on a stone ledge.jpg, where you obtained an image that is a 'faithful reproduction' of a 2D work of art from a third party source, you should use {{PD-Art}} around the public domain license tag, so as to specifically indicate that US law (and Commons) does not recognize any copyright claim to the photo itself. It's not the 'end of the world' if you do not, but it's a better practice (it also changes how the image is categorized, so we can track such 'claims'). Thanks. - Looking at your older uploads, I see that you actually aware. Whoops. Reventtalk 09:27, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
