cuddling through a thunderstorm w/ seonghwa
[22:07] “did you hear that?”
seonghwa turned to look at you with sweet, big eyes
“hear what, baby?”
“nothing … it just sounded like some thunder off in the distance ….”
“you know, i think i heard something about a thunderstorm rolling through tonight”
“… oh”

[23:12] “seonghwa, i hate this. i really, really hate this.”
“i know baby” he pulled you even closer against his chest and kissed the top of your head
since the storm had started, seonghwa had drawn all of the curtains over the windows, wrapped you both up in two fuzzy blankets, and turned the volume of the movie up in an attempt to drown out the sounds of the thunder currently rumbling over the roof
he reached for the remote and turned the movie up two more clicks before sinking himself further down into the couch, making it so that you were practically laying on top of him
“seonghwa ..?”
“yeah?”
you craned your neck up to look at him, who was already looking back at you
“this might sound silly, but …” you nuzzled your head back against his chest, suddenly embarrassed of your request “… but could you maybe just tell me that we’ll be okay? like, that the storm won’t hurt us or anything?”
“y/n, of course we’ll be safe. this is just an average rain storm and it’ll pass by morning, okay?”
“okay” you mumbled into his tshirt
“that’s not a silly thing to ask of me, by the way. i mean, i suppose there’s never any guarantees but worst case scenario … i’ll protect you !!!”
he wrapped his legs around your hips and arms around your shoulders making you both giggle and messing up all of the blankets in the process
“seonghwa !! seonghwa let me go !!” you half heartedly giggled
“oohhh” he pouted and stopped squeezing “but i thought you liked my hugs~”
you rolled your eyes before leaving a chaste kiss on his lips and snuggling back into his chest
he adjusted the blankets over you both and wiggled his body to settle in one final time, accepting this future back ache tomorrow morning from the lumps in the couch
right before he dozed off for the night, he heard your small voice reach his ears
“seonghwa?”
he mustered up a groan in response
“thank you for protecting me”
