Preppy fashion was worn by young people who could afford to attend nice schools in preparation for attending nice colleges, after which they could find nice jobs and ultimately dress like yuppies. The preppy look included classic blazers, conservative cuts, nice tailoring, and quality shoes like leather loafers, oxfords, or pumps.
