Core word of the week

The new word of the week is GO! We will be focusing on this word for the next couple of weeks. I sent home a handout with ways to incorporate GO naturally into your daily activities and with some additional activities. See the picture of the handout below if you want to take another look. Our newest word of the week is "MORE". We ask for "more" all the time, so this will likely become a very useful word for many of our kids. We may ask for more snack, more time, more rest, more soap, to play more, etc. Check out the handout below for ways to incorporate this new word into your home routines. Today, we’re diving into the world of core words and why using core word of the week in your classroom is an absolute game-changer. Now, I know you’re already familiar with core words, but let’s quickly recap for anyone who might be new to this concept. Core words are like the building blocks of language. For our next core vocabulary target, we are using one of our review words from last year which may be new to some which is DIFFERENT. Below is a handout that shows different ways to use the word DIFFERENT naturally throughout the day. You can use this online potato head game (click HERE) or a real potato head toy to make choices and put DIFFERENT things on the potato head.

Last week and this coming week, we are targeting the word "OPEN" in speech and in the classroom. Here is a handout we shared with the teachers that can also be incorporated in the home.
