DNA Helix; My daughter and I created the helix with foam balls, string toothpicks and skewers.    Paint 1/2 of the foam balls one Color and use the white for the sugar and the other for the phosphate group.  Use colored toothpicks the the different bases.   One dowel rode for support and a glue gun.    She skews are used to put holes in the balls. Paint them in the skewer it is easier.
