- NO SANDING REQUIRED; however, I did a light scuff sand since it will get heavy use by my kids.
- Clean the surface to be covered with a wet paper towel or Krud Kutter if really greasy.
- Apply two coats of liquid wood n primer in long even strokes waiting two hours in between coats.
- Apply a light coat of the wood n stain covering the surface. Finish with long even strokes. Work in sections of your furniture.
- Use a paint brush to brush long even strokes lightly. Finish with a whisk broom brush in the same pattern. This creates the streaked pattern.
- After 48 hours, apply two coats of matte sealer. Furniture is re Neutral Modern Home, Pottery Barn Kitchen, Liquid Wood, Krud Kutter, Pottery Barn Look, Pottery Barn Furniture, Whisk Broom, Wet Paper, Woodworking Cabinets

• 40-80 grits are very coarse and are best used for removing old finishes and deep scratches.
• 100-150 grits are a mid range grit and they are used for cleaning up the rough finish left behind from the previous grits, removing medium to small scratches, as well as scuff sanding.
• 220-340 grit is very fine and is used for removing small scratches left behind from the previous grit as well as sanding lightly in between coats. Anything
• 320+ is considered ultra fine and would typically be used just for sanding in between coats.

•Clean piece well. Scuff sand with 220 grit.
•Prepare paint wash. We used @fusionmineralpaint in the color Algonquin and mixed it with water. Approximately one part paint to three parts water.
•Apply to surface with brush. Let sit for a few minutes. Wipe off with lint free paper towel or cloth. May add another coat of paint wash if more coverage is wanted.
•Seal with polyurethane for protection

SANDING!
The second thing you want to do after cleaning the piece is sanding! If you’re going for a painted finish, all you need is a scuff sand.

So what is a scuff sand and why is it important? It’s exactly what it sounds like- you are “scuffing” up the surface, to remove the shine and slickness in order to create teeth for your next product to stick to. I like to use anywhere from a 120-180 grit to do this, but if your sander is pretty strong, you could get away with using a fresh 220. Scuff sanding should take you no more than 5-10 minutes, unless you’re planning on removing the finish.

You’ll notice that mostly all your prep work (cleaning, sanding, priming) is in service of making sure that paint will adhe Scuff Sanding, Furniture Upcycling, Upcycling Diy, Furniture Flipping, Going Natural, Furniture Restoration, Flipping Furniture, Grits, Upcycled Furniture
