Kate on Instagram: "This really is a super easy way to strip detailed parts of your furniture makeover! And all in all it really isnt super labor intensive considering how fast this strips away all of the finish! I just go over the area with a fine piece of sandpaper or sponge to smooth it out afterwards! Highly recommend! Would you guys give this a try?! . . #furniturerefinishing #furnitureartist #furnituremakeover #furnitureflipper #upcycledfurniture #paintedfurniture #diyfurniture #refinishedfurniture" Sandblasting Furniture, Soda Blasting, Redoing Furniture, Furniture Makeover Inspiration, Stripping Furniture, Revamp Furniture, Next Furniture, Woodworking Cabinets, Upcycled Furniture Diy

Kate on Instagram: "This for sure is my most used/favorite way of stripping detailed pieces of furniture! While yes soda blasting is messy, putting the piece on a tarp makes for pretty easy cleanup! And compared to other methods it actually is super beginner friendly ! If it does get on my skin, its just baking soda so easily washes off with water (and makes my skin soft too apparently!) I have a machine from Amazon and one from harbor freight and love them both! lemme know if you have any questions in the comments! And comment the word LINK for the soda blaster I use sent to your inbox!

1.9K views · 199 reactions | I did a lot of research on soda-blasting about a year ago, most videos where people quickly blast the finish off a piece of furniture involve a commercial-grade air compressor. That was not in my budget, so I found a more affordable way to do it.

A guide to buy the whole set-up is in my bio!

The technique:
I set up tarps under, behind, and to the sides of the furniture (I really need to buy a tent). I go through a lot of sand bead on each project, so I try to recycle as much as I can. I can typically save between 90-95% of the glass bead with my tarp set-up.

Since this isn’t a commercial grade air compressor, I need to take breaks between blasts to let the tank refill. I like to blast for about 5-10 minutes, then switch off to using an orbital sander on the Soda Blasting Furniture, Soda Blasting, Furniture Remodel, Furniture Remodeling, Sand Blasting, Orbital Sander, Recycled Glass Bead, Walnut Shell, Wear A Mask
