The only reason I’m not going into about the writing as well is because this is SO worth reading for yourself.

But holy fucking shit you guys this is so good. The visuals do not overshadow the writing, in fact they must be at this level to meet the bar.

If you aren’t reading absolute wonder woman you are doing yourself a disservice.

I love Kaiju and Mothra is one of the very best.
This comic is definitely worth your time if you’re a fan.

This new 5 part limited series has a fantastic running start along the razors edge of information density and story flow and does cartwheels down that line at full speed, never leaving the reader in the dust but still demanding they at least make efforts to keep up.

Clark was sure, he was in love and he was sure, he knew what his future would be….. and then he saw the future.

And then he couldn’t be sure anymore, he lost the confidence to overcome his fear and tell her the truth, and fate altered his path.

In all likelyhood they probably wouldn’t have lasted, kids are terrible at considering other people’s feelings and relationships are fucking hard . But the choice was taken away from them.

I’m not a Lana/Clark shipper this is just about fate and agency and narrative.

The story we do get is a bit less silly than that, but its not too far off either.

They do a fantastic job with setting and really give a sense of a full world with an rich history, giving each kaiju a place in it that makes sense.

Absolute Flash has somehow managed to completely surprise me while unfolding exactly how I expected —I suspect time travel.

Love that Grodd reveal. I’m hoping that Wally and Grodd become friends.
Golden Glider’s design is great, I love it and hope she gets lots of play.

I’m now like 99% sure Barry is Reverse Flash despite it still being totally unconfirmed. Just because of how they keep framing their interactions.
Unless they go full twist and make Rudy the threat and Barry the biggest red herring in years. Hard to pull off, but if done right would be epic.

I’m liking the lightning powers coming early and being uncontrolled.

I actually experienced déjà vu while typing this post so my time travel suspicions may be correct.

Thomas Wayne’s drawing of Alfred is lovingly rendered and captures a light in his eyes, this too is PennyWaynes.

They’re definitely trying to do something new with Aquaman, really giving him a whole level up in lore and powers.

They’re backing it up with incredible art and beautiful detailed spreads.

This is my first Aquaman series so I can’t really comment on whether this change is good or bad but it’s very pretty.

With #5 wrapping up an arc, This will end the first TPB.

I recommend adding the trade paperback to your collection when it comes out in august under the title “Laura Kinney: Wolverine Vol. 1 – One-Mutant Army”.
