Anyways,,, I’ve been working on a LOT for this ref sheet… I really wanna nail the feelings here so o can replicate ghem later but it’s REALLY HARD because a lot of mariware’s… uh later stages let’s say in her “virus-ness” rely a lot on collage and multimedia… which I ADORE but am NOT VERY GOOD AT!!!!

Wips of this one in particular… I really liked how I did her mouth but then when I started adding effects it’s started blending into the rest of whatever the fuck is going on so. I may have to change it :(((( also she is a little too saturated/ has too many extremely vibrant warm tones for my liking so may have to cool her down a bit </3 but alas!!! Fucked up creature is here and real

Also I got stage 3 sketched out!!! She’s very subject to change though… she’s probably the one who relies most on the collage style in the rendering so I don’t wanna show her sketch Because it’s messy and chaotic but here she is anyways.

I WILL ELABORATE AS MUCH AS I CAN WITHOUT SPOILING ANYTHING MAJOR BUT-

Mariware is a very personal horror at FIRST, but once the main guys catch onto her TRUE intentions, well then she goes just a little haywire!!! Thus mariware becoming an ACTUAL virus occurs, where she starts implanting herself into every device in faraway (via that special program sunny made for her that allows her to request elevated permissions!) and desperately tries to find SOME sort of understanding in anyone there that could help her further her ambitions (shes breaking down MAJORLY by now) and thats when the real shit starts going down.

Most of my puter lore notes are unfortunately kept in voice notes to my friend (shoutout to @/paulina434 for being the recipient of all the puter lore ever and helping me out with a lot of it JSJSJDJDJ) so I don’t have A TON to show but… there are lots of new characters and locations, e.g. the arcade whoch is probably my favourite location in Puter because thats kinda where mariware loses her SHIT JAJSJSJ and where all the fun stuff happens like the basil confrontation 2 electric boogaloo and Kel Gets To Use A Gun !!!!! It also looks really cool in my head ough… though I also like the remodelled treehouse courtesy of sally and co :)

As for the cult……. I was slightlyyyyy exaggerating HEHEJSJSJ but that’s what I’ve been calling ‘em in my head. I want to elaborate on them way more some day… theyre very cool. So. Let’s just say that one basil wip piece is going to be VERY expansive about that and a few other things When I get round to doing stuff with it…… puter basil the Sufferer Of The Horrors ever

And NEW CHARACTERS!!!! There are a lot… as well as characters that are getting WAY more spotlight like sally!!! Theres this little guy called henry who’s Sally’s friend and a relative of basil who I love. He’s a mean but very loving piece of shit </3 living with basil temporarily. Basil is trying his best…….. little does he know everything is gonna go to SHIT over a little GOBLIN inside a computer

Anyway yes TLDR a lot goes on. New locations new characters lots of mariware insanity,,, lots of cool new organisations,,,,,, the whole thing with IHX IVPJMKEL and MRS SUZUKI OUGH CRIES. Oh and sunnyware and the First Cast and everything GOD I HAVE LITERALLY ONLY POSTED THE TIP OF THE PUTER ICEBERG THERE IS SO MUCH GOING ON SNDJSJSJSJ SO. I GUESS ALL THIS TO SAY. THERES A LOT SO I HOPE PEOPLE ARE STILL EXCITED ANOUT THIS AU BECAUSE IM COOKING I SWEAR!!!!!!!! OUGH

She’s very silly… and also few fun facts about Henry!!! He’s based off of Rowan (as hou fan probably tell from the doodle shsjsjsj) but I headcanon that as basil’s last name so I couldn’t call him Rowan Rowan…. So I decided to nab a name from Dorian Gray to match with basil!!!! I REALLY wanted to name him Dorian but I settled for Henry in the end because it’s the same as hero’s and I thought that would be funny. Those two could not be farther apart. ALSO not much symbolism/correlation there because I haven’t Finished Dorian gray yet so- LITERALLY JUST THE NAME HSJSJSJSJ

Also….

Sunnyware is real!!!! He has been since the start actually. One of the very first concepts I had… He’s not toooooo like. Featured but he’s very pivotal for mariware’s descent into madness JSJSJSJ

HEHSHSHSH THATS A GOOD QUESTION ACTUALLY- and one that makes me reveal a little more puter lore :)

The game sunny made that mariware originates from originally had a… “secret bad ending” (Think like. Lacey’s diner? That kind of thing) which was just a personal vent thing. It was almost impossible to get but it included a model of THAT… sunny also had a self insert model in the game as a haha reference and mariware is using that same model for sunnyware. So sunnyware HAS this death model and before he deletes his own code he switches to it to convey what he feels!!! So hes basically a corpse- a model without any code that mariware can’t do anything to salvage, because there is literally nothing left. No matter how hard she tries…

AND HIS GOAT PUPILS!!! When I first drew him they were an accident when I was trying to draw his expression but I liked them so much I kept ‘em as a personal design choice. I think they’re very silly….
