For the past 2 years my school has had school-wide laminated paper hall passes - but this year our principal told us that we could make our own (which is awesome because those paper passes were coming back from the bathroom with wet spots - EW). I would use this hand out as a viewing activity. For older kids I would put a blank beside the examples and provide a word bank. With younger and even older kids I would bring in materials and examples of these textures represented so they can get a real experience with it.
