A lower elementary Montessori environment is for elementary-aged children from 1st through 3rd grade. A Montessori environment is a place where the student's developmental needs are considered. The Montessori curriculum focuses on these subject areas: Arithmetic, geometry, language, biology, geography, history, art, music, and physical education. A lower elementary curriculum is offered through various Montessori teacher training programs which are necessary to be a Montessori guide.
